The Movement Generation and Control Group is an important partner of the European Memmo Project

The Memmo project (Memory of motion) will develop a unified yet tractable approach to motion generation for complex robots with arms and legs. The 4-year-project is led by Dr. Ludovic Righetti and Dr. Andrea Del Prete and receives 4 million euros in funding, of which 600.000 € are funding for the Movement Generation and Control Group.

Nanoroboter steuern erstmals durchs Auge

Wissenschaftler entwickeln speziell beschichtete Nanopropeller, die von außen durch dichtes Gewebe wie den Glaskörper eines Auges gesteuert werden können. Bisher war es lediglich möglich Mikroroboter durch Modellflüssigkeiten zu bewegen – nicht aber durch echtes Gewebe. Die Forschungsarbeit wurde im Fachjournal Science Advances veröffentlicht. Das internationale Forscherteam ist damit dem Ziel einige Schritte nähergekommen, Nanoroboter als minimal-invasive Werkzeugen zu nutzen: eines Tages sollen sie Medikamente genau dorthin transportieren können, wo sie gebraucht werden – ohne einen größeren operativen Eingriff vornehmen zu müssen.

The reason for the event was to present the Cyber Valley Initiative - one of the largest research cooperations in Europe in the field of artificial intelligence - to the press.
