The research group of “Micro-, Nano- and Molecular Systems” (Prof. Peer Fischer) in Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart, Germany is now looking for a
Postdoctoral researcher/Research Engineer Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Physics to work on Control systems for micromanipulation.
The aim of the project is to design, construct and test a control system, which uses magnetic fields to move and control microstructures or particles in complex biological fluids. A university degree in Engineering or Applied Physics is required. We expect you have experience and knowledge in the field of control and regulation technology, programming and automation, specialized in the controlling methods based on machine learning. Experience with magnetic systems is preferred, and specific experience or interest in reinforcement learning algorithms is preferred. Abilities of independent and responsible work and excellent English skills are required. The candidate should be open to discuss new ideas and have flexibility to apply various experimental methods.
