Generally speaking, my research interests lie in the study of wave propagation, especially in complex media.
Currently, I work in the field of computational photography and astronomy. My field of expertise is the design, simulation, testing, and operation of optical systems. For this I use various optical test set-ups and tools like Zemax OpticStudio. Furthermore, I am equally interested in the machine learning aspects of computation photography.
Prior to MPIIS, I was a post-doctoral Marie Curie fellow at the Institut d'Optique in the group of Alain Aspect, studying propagation of matterwaves in disordered potentials and Anderson localization. Before that, I obtained my PhD for pushing the limits on optical pumping of dense quantum gases.
