The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, Germany, is a leading center for research in computer vision, robotics, and machine learning. Our research seeks to understand mathematical principles of intelligent systems. Part of the institute, the Software Workshop is a unique Central Scientific Facility at the intersection of research and software engineering. We bring together scientists and software engineers to help improve the research of the institute by translating it into high quality software products and promoting it worldwide.
In this context, we are looking for a
Student Assistant (m/f) specialized in Python, 20 hours/week
to help us to develop a framework for code coverage analysis and visualisation. Students without a Bachelor’s degree will earn €10,14 per hour. Students holding a Bachelor’s degree will be paid €11,79 per hour. An initial contract will be offered for up to six months.
You will work with the members of the Software Workshop to develop this solution. You will have the chance to learn professional software developments practices and to be acquainted with the research topics of the institute.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Exploratory tasks in order to select technologies to be used;
- Design of the application based on project charter;
- Implementation, testing, and documentation of new features;
- Programming experience in Python. Please send links to public repositories (GitHub, Bitbucket, ...) or snippets of codes that you have written;
- Experience with scientific libraries and/or software development tools/practices will be appreciated;
- Excellent team playing skills, written/spoken English, and communication skills.
